I am a Tar Heel by birth and attended North Carolina State University (BA in English with high honors in 1975) and University of North Carolina Law School (JD in 1982). However I adopted Virginia as my home in 1983 when I opened my law office in Charlottesville. I have been engaged in the practice law for over thirty years and have also served as a prosecutor on a part time basis in Louisa County for five years and a Commissioner in Chancery in Fluvanna County for four years. I have been active in the Charlottesville community, serving on the boards of Offender Aid and Restoration and Legal Aid, board member and chairman of the Charlottesville School Board and President of the Charlottesville/Albemarle Bar Association. Currently I am president of Meals on Wheels Board.
